Releases of the week
Passionate about music, I've been exploring new releases online since 2010, sharing my favorite discoveries with close friends and curating playlists on various themes, especially yearly favorites. In 2020, with more free time, I decided to bring my music recommendations to a wider audience on Instagram, using stories and creative designs for a more engaging presentation.
Throughout the first semester, I used Instagram every Friday to share weekly music releases, eventually compiling my favorites into a 125-song playlist by midyear. The plan was to update it at year's end with selections from the second half, keeping the total at 125 songs. To mark these releases, I designed two distinct color schemes—one for the July launch and another for the final update—each reflecting its respective phase.
I was thrilled with the final playlist, as it featured a diverse and eclectic mix of songs from different styles, cultures, and countries, offering surprises for anyone exploring new music. The playlist reflects my personal taste and can be found at the bottom of the page, along with my Spotify profile for previous selections. The success of this project inspired me to continue blending music and design in future projects for 2021, which I will share first on my Instagram: @fill1ntheblank. Thanks!
